The 21st Century needs a diverse, highly skilled and empowered STEM workforce to support our nation’s quest for resiliency in the face of hurricanes, tornadoes, floods, droughts and other weather-related events and disasters.

UMBC is a partner in Student Airborne Science Activation for Minority Serving Institutions (SaSa MSI). SaSa MSI aims to bring unique NASA expertise and assets, including people, missions, products, data, and scientific results, to a diversity of learners effectively and efficiently.

At its core an 8-week summer paid internship experience, with travel and housing expenses covered, student field/airborne campaign that will provide students from minority serving institutions direct engagement with NASA science, scientists and engineers.
